SEC Football Predictions-Week of November 20, 2010

You will notice two things regarding my predictions this week:

1.  I am later than usual, much later-business is good and I didn’t have time until now.

2.  Alabama has already played; if I had missed that pick I would need to be fired anyway 🙂

Hearing my excuses, let’s get started.

Troy at South Carolina

Alshon Jeffrey Running back Marcus Lattimore #21 of the South Carolina Gamecocks runs for a touchdown against the Alabama Crimson Tide October 9, 2010 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

There may be a little hangover for the ‘Cocks, but not enough to put a L on the board.  USC wins 24-14

Appalachian State at Florida

The Gators will bounce back and win, but not in convincing fashion.  This is a fair Florida team, not a good one or a great one.

Gators win 28-10

Ole Miss at LSU

This may be ugly, but I suspect LSU will be a little flat today, but not that flat.  Ole Miss is bad; really bad…

LSU 24-Ole Miss 7

Arkansas at Mississippi State

The best conference game of the day.  Good offenses versus good defense in this matchup.

I predict Arkansas will win, but the Cowbell might just pull the upset-depends on turnovers.

Arkansas 35-Miss. St. 21

Tennessee at Vanderbilt

This has been another tough season for Vandy, but I have a hunch that tonight will be different.  Tennessee has had two extremely easy games the last two weeks and tonight may be different.

I am out on the limb on this pick.  Vandy wins 28-27

Here is my bonus pick for the day.  I am going out of conference to pick the ESPN Gameday game from Soldier Field in Chicago.

Northwestern is a smart team.  I saw them play here in Nashville during week 1, but their quarterback is now gone for the season.

Illinois is solid and the Zooker has done a good job with a tough program to coach.

My prediction-Illini win over the Wildcats 31-27.

We are 6 days away from the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa.  That may very well be the best game of the year, not just in the SEC, but in the entire nation.

My motto-Yes we Cam!

Have a great weekend and a Blessed Thanksgiving!
