SEC Baseball Update-Feb 26, 2011

The college baseball season kicked off this week and the SEC is well represented in the rankings.

In Baseball America we have Florida at #1, Vanderbilt at #3, South Carolina at #7,  and at #20.

In College Baseball 360 we have Florida at #1, Vandy at #4, South Carolina at #12, LSU at #13 and Auburn at #26

The SEC is strong and deep and it will make for a very interesting and entertaining season.Series of the weekend in the conference is the Vandy-Stanford series in Nashville.  Stanford comes in ranked #8 or #9 and they are a solid ball club.  Vanderbilt baseball team headshots.(John Russell/Vanderbilt University)

Vandy took the opener behind the stellar pitching of Sonny Gray, 2-1.

Today’s matchup will have senior Taylor Hill on the mound for the Commodores facing Dean McArdle of Stanford.
