SEC Baseball Conference Play-Weekend 1: March 18-20, 2011

The SEC kicked off conference play this weekend and there were few surprises.  I have summarized the results from this weekend below and then have the upcoming series listed.  No doubt that Florida will remain #1 in the country, but I suspect Vandy will slide a little after letting their Sunday game get away versus Mississippi State in Nashville.  will also drop after being swept at Alex Box by the Gators.

Alabama took 2 of 3 from Ole Miss in Oxford

Auburn took 2 of 3 from Arkansas in Auburn

Vanderbilt took 2 of 3 from Miss. St. in Nashville

South Carolina took 2 of 3 from Georgia in Columbia

Kentucky took 2 of 3 from Tennessee in Lexington

Florida swept LSU at Baton Rouge

Here are the series for the weekend of March 25-27:

Kentucky at Alabama     (Bama wins 2 of 3)

Vanderbilt at Arkansas   (Vandy wins 2 of 3)

Auburn at Mississippi State   (Auburn wins 2 of 3)

South Carolina at Florida   (Florida wins 2 of 3)

LSU at Georgia   (Georgia wins 2 of 3)

Ole Miss at Tennessee  (Ole Miss wins 2 of 3)

I’ll be back later in the week with some further highlights.  Go out and watch some SEC baseball!
