Ole Miss moves the tailgate on the field-Vandy is undefeated!

As we move into the third week of the college football season it is time for the tough to get going.  As you will see, there are a number of juicy games this week and weekend and the separation between the pretenders and contenders will start to take place.

Here is a quick rundown of the past week’s games.  As you can see from the title, the Rebs/Bears (whatever) actually won a game and Vandy is now 2-0.  Shall miracles never cease?

49 Northwestern State 3 Did anyone even attend this game?
Vanderbilt 24 UConn 21 Vandy was left standing in this game with offenses seeking leadership
Arkansas 52 New Mexico  3 See LSU comment
Florida 39 UAB 0 ditto
Ole Miss 42 Southern Illinois 24 Did anyone in Oxford lean what a Saluki is?
South Carolina 45 Georgia 42 Georgia took a pistol and kept shooting themselves in the foot-they should have won this game
Tennessee 45 Cincinnati  23 If Huggins was still at Cincy they might have stood a chance
Alabama 27 Penn St.  11 Bama shows mercy on the hapless Nittany Lions-Joe pa, retire please!
Auburn 42 Mississippi State 34 I lacked faith in the Tigers and they showed enough mettle, and offense to win-Does Dan Mullen know the best route to Athens yet?
Kentucky 27 Central Michigan  13 The Chippewas had this one in hand until they showed disrespect by going for it on 4th down-the Cats woke up and won going away

We have another great slate of games this week.  Let’s take a peek:

LSUlsu @Mississippi St. miss_state logo A must win for the Bullies-if MSU can keep from turning it over they have a chance, a slim chance.  LSU 21-MSU 17
Ole Miss  martini_glass @Vanderbilt  vandy study Vandy has a great defense, but the offense is Jekyll and Hyde-Ole Miss should just Hide.  Vandy 21-Ole Miss 17
Auburn  auburn-nova-eaglejpg-9cdd7e04ec21477c @Clemson  image The Tigers will win this game as Auburn goes to Clemson (aka Auburn with a lake)  Aubie smiles as AU wins 35-28
Coastal Carolina  image @Georgia  image UGA gets in the win column in a convincing manner.  Georgia 45-CC 17
Tennessee  image @Florida  image Volunteer fans think this team should be ranked, but not so fast.  UF 28-UT 17
Navy  image @South Carolina  image A slight hangover for the Cocks, but they will wake up just in time.  USC 24-Navy 21
Louisville  image @Kentucky  image The boredom bowl will take place at Commonwealth Stadium as Cat fans begin the countdown to basketball after this loss.  UL 35-UK 14
North Texas  image @Alabama  image Why waste words.  Bama 49-North TX 7
Troy  image @Arkansas  image See above.  Hogs 45-Troy 21

The season will only get better and my bet is that there will be at least 2 lawsuits by October 15 involving the SEC and the Texas A&M situation.  Only the attorneys will win that battle.
